Prince Edward Theatre Gets Lives Update At A Glance

Similar to other West End theatres in London, Prince Edward Theatre too is placed in Westminster city (London). It is a part of the Old Crompton Street, north of the Leicester Square. The theatre was named after Prince Edward and the first show organized over here was musical Rio Rita on its inaugural day. In 1935, the theatre was modified into a nightclub by Stone. The place has seen one of the worst days of its time during the World War II. It was badly damaged after the incident. The changes of the theatre were undertaken by Thomas Braddock in 1942 and it established again as the "Queensberry All Services Club". The Prince Edward Theatre started hosting shows devoted to the men in uniform and they started to broadcast on BBC. Once the battle was finished, the place was restrained for theatrical purpose under the direction of highly praised theatre architect T and B Bradock. In 1954 the place was altered from a night club to movies. In 1974 when the new proprietor of the place holds its administration, a new monitor was fixed a worth rupees of £150,000.

After running four years as movie center, the place was again preserved as a theatre by RHWL Architects. On inauguration day, the theatre was returned its previous name and the journey of the musical Evita started from here. In 1992-93 RHWL again took the charges of renovation of the theatre and developed several things. The place unlocked on 3rd March 1993 with great show of Crazy for You. The musical Mamma Mia released here on 6th April 1999 and celebrated five years of crowd packed run before being moved to the Prince of Wales Theatre London.
